MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
Role Summary: Perform mechanical installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations with minimal downtime, in compliance with EHS guidelines. This includes carrying out planned, preventive, and corrective maintenance in line with OEM requirements and established procedures to reduce breakdowns and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications & skills:
Minimum Qualifications: Diploma with a relevant mechanical/ technical trade certification. Completion of PEC Craft Training
Minimum Experience: 3 Years of relevant experience in a heavy industry after Diploma. No experience required after completion of PEC Training
Skills: Proficiency in computer applications with a good working knowledge of written and spoken English. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance reports. Strong knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment, and general mechanical systems, including experience in the maintenance and overhauling of pumps, bearings, and gearboxes with proper alignment. Knowledge of conveyor system maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to operate mobile equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and elevated work platforms, with familiarity in rigging, scaffolding, and welding practices. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
