Job Description
The Estimation Manager is responsible for overseeing the tendering and estimation process for proposed construction projects, ensuring that all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.
• Manage and lead the tendering and estimation process for proposed construction projects, including analyzing project requirements, preparing estimates, and submitting proposals.
• Review tender documents, project specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate and comprehensive estimates and proposals.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineering teams, Procurement teams, and other project team members to obtain accurate and up-to-date information for the preparation of estimates.
• Prepare cost breakdowns, material and labor estimates, and other relevant data required for project budgeting and resource allocation.
• Analyze and evaluate bid data to ensure that estimates are accurate and competitive.
• Monitor market trends and prices, and identify potential risks and opportunities that may affect project budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with the Procurement teams to obtain quotes and bids from subcontractors and vendors, and negotiate pricing and terms to ensure that the project budget is met.
• Participate in project review meetings to ensure that estimates are aligned with project scope and specifications.
• Work with the Project Managers to prepare and submit proposals to clients, and participate in client presentations and meetings as needed.
• Develop and maintain estimation databases, tools, and templates to ensure that the estimation process is efficient and effective.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all estimates, bids, and proposals.
Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in an estimation management role.
• Knowledge of construction design, processes, and techniques.
• Familiarity with construction codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in the use of computer-aided design software, estimation software, and project management software.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
